What is Edmodo?

Edmodo is an educational website that takes the ideas of a social network and refines them and makes it appropriate for a classroom. Using Edmodo, students and teachers can reach out to one another which provides great help and feedback throughout the year at NBI. A teacher can assign and grade work on Edmodo; students can also get help from the entire class on Edmodo. The teacher is able to see everything that is posted on Edmodo, allowing for a safe online environment. Also, parents can join the class to bring a level of transparency that is difficult to achieve without technology. All in all Edmodo is a great companion for all your classes at Nicolet Bible Institute!

 
 

Setting up your edmodo account

If this is your first time using Edmodo you can follow along this three step video guide on setting up and using Edmodo. When setting up your account the video shows an older version of Edmodo's website. When you go to their website now, there is a blue panel on the left side that asks if you're a teacher, student, or parent. You will click student and follow the setup process with your Nicolet Bible Institute email credentials. Your teacher should have invited you to their class either via email or by sending you the class group code. If you have already gone through the setup process with Edmodo for NBI then you click the login button on the top right of the page.

 

How to use Edmodo

Using Edmodo should feel pretty intuitive, but if for some reason you have troubles using it you can follow this video and always come back to it in case you're having trouble. Edmodo was designed to feel similar to a social media platform, so it makes it easy to communicate with your classmates and teachers. Your Virtual backpack

Edmodo offers a feature to store all your class material, from your Apologetic notes to your Theology exams, you can store it in your backpack on Edmodo. This is a great feature that'll keep you organized so you know where your class material and homework are. Although this is a very handy feature it isn't required that you use it. If you wish, you may use your own computer storage to store and oraganize all your class material and homework.

 

Edmodo for Parents

Edmodo offers a login for parents allowing them to see their child's grades and see what they are posting in class. Parent's do not have the ability to see everything that is being posted in class and are limited to seeing just their child's content in each class. Each student is assigned a parent code, if you wish to check in on your child while they're at Nicolet Bible Institute ask your child for that code and we will assist them in sending you that code. To setup your account click the button below and click the "I'm a Parent" button inside the blue column on the left-hand side of the Edmodo website.
